Default «FIRE expenses» start at the FIRE year: what matters is how much you withdraw from the portfolio in retirement. During accumulation we assume living costs are covered by your salary (portfolio contributions already represent the income you save).
Your cash flow over time
Inflation % mode: share of simulated CPI (0% = fixed, 100% = fully indexed, 75% ≈ INPS). At 2.5% scenario, 75% ≈ 1.875% nominal. For future rows: Today / At start as above.
Applied taxes
Capital gains tax and stamp duty affecting withdrawals and capital.
Rate on withdrawals; also applied on rebalancing, taxing gains realized in the historical return series
0.2% annual tax on total capital
Unexpected events (Black swan)
Rare extraordinary expenses (e.g. health emergencies) that force extra withdrawals at random years of your life.
